We are planing our switch to Mumble by the end of the month.

Don’t know what Mumble is? Mumble is a killer voice app like teampspeak. After tests Mumble has shown to use less resources than teamspeak, and has some features that teamspeak does not. like text to speech chat.

You can get Mumble by clicking here

Grab the latest version. link is at the top of the list.

Run the installer

click next

Accept the terms that they will take your first born child if you rip them off.

Default locations and options should work for everyone.

Click install

After the install is finished. The basic setup will pop up. Mumble should find your settings correctly, and the tests on install WORK.

Now that mumble is installed, start it up.

In the server box, at the bottom click “add new

The server editor will come up.

Label: Empire Gaming

Address: voice.empire-gaming.org

Port: 64739

Username:YOU

password is empty

You should be good to go.

Fourms Updated

The Forums have been updated, Both look and feel and code. There are some new functions with in the forums.

New Features:
You can now click and post youtube videos.
You can Also add color codes, smiley faces.
Google maps can now be placed in the forum.

Fixes:
Fixed sticky posts.
Fixed move topic
Quotes work.
Fixed the “members only” posts from showing on the main page if a user was not logged in. (thanks Raines)

Design update:
Lets face it its almost fully redone. New images to help clean it up.

New News Sections

I had added new news sections to our site. This gives us nice themed news and break down by game type and title. So far on the list we have news from Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3. As we play more games more news will be added. Later today I add the members only section, with in this section of the site you can request a game be added to the support / played game list. I hope you like the direction the site is going, and find the new layouts useful. Also updated the way news is pulled into the main page to speed up page loads. Over the news few days The main page layout will change some to give a cleaner look to the site.

If you have ideas for the site or things you would like to see, please post in the forums your ideas my goal is to give us a site we are all proud of.

FB Removed and more

Facebook logins have been disabled on the website due to a few issues I had with the FB API, and data sent. If you had a facebook account you were using to login to the EG site you will need to create normal account.

Also on the update front I have added the galleries to the site. You must be logged into upload / add images to the galleries. Sections that are currently up include BF3 BFBC2 and Babe of the day. If you have a section you would like added please contact me and we will work it out. More updates on the way.

Today we have launched the 4th version of the Empire Gaming site. New features include: sliding news bar, New sliding login bar site wide, Fixes to the nav system as well as avatar crop tool. There are still a few changes pending testing, But should be live this weekend. They include the news section per game, Forums per game, and updated video / gallery sections per game. Please note that some of the layout will change over the next 2-3 days.

I hope you all enjoy the new theme that I think better fits who we are and what we are about. Thank you to everyone that helped me test and brainstorm ideas for the site, special thanks to Fritz Eldi Sunny and Rains for tons of feed back and testing.
